Dayton came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Walla Walla Valley Academy Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-8 on Friday.

Dayton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Walla Walla Valley Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Coming up, Dayton is taking a road trip to take on Waitsburg/Prescott at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Walla Walla Valley Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Quinault at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
