Softball Recap: Granite Hills Comes Up Short

Granite Hills fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against West Hills on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolf Pack by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Kaleigh Baugher spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Taylor Nash was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

Granite Hills' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-17-1. As for West Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season.

Granite Hills will square off against El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vaqueros will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Hills, they will challenge Valhalla at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolf Pack are facing the Norsemen at the right time seeing as the Norsemen are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
