Volleyball Recap: Carl Junction Has No Trouble Against Hillcrest

Carl Junction won the last time they faced Hillcrest and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Hornets 3-0. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 13th (when they won 3-0).

While Carl Junction won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 28-26.

Maddy Huffman paced Carl Junction's offense, picking up 12 kills. Huffman got some help from Jadyn Howard and her 20 assists. Anna Lewis controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest had strong showings from Piersyn Ray, who had 14 digs and two aces, and KeAshza Roy, who had 33 assists and 13 digs. Roy has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Carl Junction's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-10. As for Hillcrest, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-15-2.

Carl Junction wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bolivar on the 2nd. As for Hillcrest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Marshfield on the 2nd.
