Baseball Recap: Parkland Beats Pocono Mountain West for Their Third Straight Victory

Parkland barely beat Pocono Mountain West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Parkland blew past Pocono Mountain West 11-0 on Friday. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mack Parsell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That hit marked the first that he got this season.

In other pitching news, Sawyer Marsteller tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Ben Weninger was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Will Dobil was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Parkland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win (which was Parkland's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pocono Mountain West, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Parkland will challenge Northampton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkland's pitchers better be ready for this one: Northampton has averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Pocono Mountain West, they will face off against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
