Basketball Recap: South El Monte Takes a Loss

South El Monte and Rosemead squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but South El Monte had to settle for second. They took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosemead Panthers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 58-48.

It was another big night for Rhys Anderson, who posted 26 points for Rosemead. The game was Anderson's fourth in a row with at least 17 points.

South El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Rosemead, they pushed their record up to 16-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

South El Monte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rosemead, they will square off against Arroyo at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. Arroyo will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Rosemead surely won't give up without a fight.
