After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverton Parke, South Vermillion was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Covington Trojans 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

Shaylee Wallace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks.

The victory got South Vermillion back to even at 10-10. As for Covington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
