Recap: Upper Lake Cougars vs. Williams Yellowjackets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Bernard's, the Upper Lake Cougars were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-55 win over Williams. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Williams lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyden Bowen. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. Diego Ambriz was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Upper Lake's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Williams, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-7 record last season and are now at 2-7.
Upper Lake will head out on the road to face off against Los Molinos at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Williams, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Winters at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Winters is ranked 1159th, while Williams is ranked 1148th).
