            Baseball Recap: Grasso Tech Eagles vs. Norwich RVT Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Grasso Tech fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Norwich RVT  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of  6-5. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won  3-0.

 PJ Evans put in work no matter where he played. He  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. That's the fewest  hits  he has allowed since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with four  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
 Evans wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Reis Whitfield, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
This is the second loss in a row for Grasso Tech and  nudges their season record down to 9-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the  losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Norwich RVT, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grasso Tech will head out to  face off against Wheeler  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Norwich RVT, they will venture away from home to  square off against Old Saybrook  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
