Basketball Recap: Nickerson's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Nickerson had lost seven straight headed into Saturday's matchup, but Garrett Crossman didn't let it get to eight. The Nickerson Panthers enjoyed a cozy 60-44 victory over the Inman Inman Teutons on Saturday thanks in part to Crossman, who went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Nickerson's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Inman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Nickerson and Inman could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Nickerson (ranked 286th) will meet Haven (ranked 30th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nickerson is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. Similarly, Inman will challenge Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Monday down 193 places (301 vs. 108).
