Winfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Elkins, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Winfield was ranked ninth). The Generals put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 4-1 win on Saturday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Winfield were the better team in the second half.

They hit Elkins with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Shae Knolles (2), Brady Sutler, and Brayden Wissler.

Meanwhile, Hurricane kept a clean sheet against Parkersburg on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Big Reds. The victory continues a trend for Hurricane in their matchups with Parkersburg: they've now won seven in a row.

Hurricane's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Winfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-2.
