Basketball Recap: King's Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but King's Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks by a score of 54-51. The Knights lost against the Hawks in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-44 score last time.

King's Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Everett Hollis, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. Hollis has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Madison, who had ten points and three steals.

Even though they lost, King's Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

CHAAMP HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Harrison, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Dylan Hampton was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

King's Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-13. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-7.

King's Academy will head out on the road to square off against Tyler Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, they will face off against Marshall Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
