Basketball Recap: Clay Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fayette Academy over Tipton-Rosemark Academy

Fayette Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 59-37 to the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Fayette Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Clay Anderson, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five boards. Zane Pike was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Fayette Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Fayette Academy and Tipton-Rosemark Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Fayette Academy will take on Jackson Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 135 places (203 vs. 68). Similarly, Tipton-Rosemark Academy (ranked 210th) will meet University School of Jackson (ranked 80th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
