Baseball Recap: Poinciana Takes a Loss

Poinciana and Lake Nona squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Poinciana had to settle for second. They came up short against the Lions, falling 15-1. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Fransisco Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Poinciana's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Lake Nona, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10.

Poinciana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Nona, they will square off against St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
