After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Pleasant, Big Rapids was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Newaygo Lions, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for Big Rapids: when they faced off against Newaygo on September 8th, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Big Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 6-10-2. As for Newaygo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Rapids will host Reeths-Puffer at 11:30 a.m. on October 4. As for Newaygo, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Montague at 5:00 p.m. on October 6.
