Baseball Recap: KIPP King Wins Going Away Against Leadership Public Schools Richmond

After losing to Leadership Public Schools Richmond the last time they met, KIPP King decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Pumas on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Gabriel Acevedo made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Acevedo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while going 3-for-4. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last six times he's played.

The win made it two in a row for KIPP King and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 15.5 runs. As for Leadership Public Schools Richmond, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.
