Basketball Recap: Bennett Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

Bennett had won three straight games and Zakai Smullen did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Bennett Clippers walked away with a 55-48 victory over the Washington Jaguars thanks to Smullen, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Benjamin Singletary was another key player, putting up eight points. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Bennett pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points over those games. As for Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Bennett has already played their next game, a 45-39 victory against Parkside on the 1st. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-51 defeat against Wicomico on the 31st.
