Softball Recap: Quakertown Panthers vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials

It was a good run, but Quakertown unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials. Quakertown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Plymouth Whitemarsh apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Kira Jefferson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

On Plymouth Whitemarsh's side, Rian Reed was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Reed was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Kalina Childers was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a home run. Another player making a difference was Joslyn Perez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Quakertown's loss ended a 16-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-1. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
