Softball Recap: Pearl River Comes Up Short

Pearl River fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lakeshore on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Lakeshore by a score of 9-8. The Rebels have struggled against Lakeshore recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Braylyn Kelly was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Bailey Lagman was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Pearl River's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lakeshore, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pearl River will venture away from home to challenge Maurepas at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakeshore, they will take on Franklinton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
