Basketball Recap: Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lindsay last Wednesday, Summit Charter Collegiate Academy came back down to earth. The Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Bears had to suffer through a 85-53 loss at the hands of the Corcoran Panthers. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Javon Bragg went supernova for Corcoran, dropping a double-double on 43 points and 18 rebounds. The match was Bragg's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Escobedo, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Summit Charter Collegiate Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Corcoran, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Summit Charter Collegiate Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-39 defeat against Sanger West on the 12th. Corcoran has also already played their next game, a 78-55 victory against Hanford West on the 12th.
