Basketball Recap: Tripoli Takes a Loss

Tripoli was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 95-57 loss at the hands of the Newman Catholic Knights. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Knights are ranked 88th).

Tripoli's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Newman Catholic, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Tripoli does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newman Catholic, they will take on Janesville on Thursday. Newman Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Janesville likes a good challenge.
