Basketball Recap: Lowndes Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lowndes Academy had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights by a score of 49-40 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Knights back in December of 2024, they had to take a 35-33 loss.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Omarion Wilson, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Micah Andrews, who put up ten points and six rebounds.

Lowndes Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Lowndes Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they will take on Valiant Cross Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th.
