Baseball Recap: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Briggsdale Falcons

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Weldon Valley can now relate to. They lost 23-8 to the Briggsdale Falcons on Tuesday. The defeat leaves Weldon Valley without a win on the season.

ZANDER BRAUN and JON SMITH did some serious damage despite the final result: BRAUN scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while SMITH scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

On Briggsdale's side, Tanner Fiscus was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing three bases while going 5-for-5. Another player making a difference was Daniel Trujillo, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Weldon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Briggsdale, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Weldon Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Briggsdale, they will square off against Akron at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Briggsdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
