With a playoff win on the line, Midlothian rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the White Longhorns as they made off with a 26-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 19 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Midlothian got a great performance from Austyn Pena as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Pena a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jocelyn Martinez, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those nine RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Howard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Midlothian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win (which was Midlothian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games.
