Volleyball Recap: Elbert County Comes Up Short

Elbert County entered their matchup against Franklin County on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Blue Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

While Elbert County was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23.

Elbert County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Franklin County, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elbert County will head out to challenge George Walton Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin County, they will venture away from home to take on Union County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
