Basketball Recap: Tinley Park Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tinley Park can now relate to. They lost 69-46 to the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th in Illinois, while the Warriors are ranked 118th in Illinois).

Perspectives Leadership/Technology got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Phoenix Childs out in front who went 7-for-12 en route to 24 points and five boards. Childs is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Derrick Dowdell Jr, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Tinley Park and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-9.

Tinley Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, they will square off against Marian Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Perspectives Leadership/Technology knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Marian Catholic likes a good challenge.
