Volleyball Recap: Beaumont School Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shaker Heights on Wednesday, Beaumont School came back down to earth. The Blue Streaks came up short against the Padua Franciscan Bruins on Thursday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Streaks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-17.

Carly Brown paced Beaumont School's offense, picking up eight kills. Brown got some help from Ali Calabrese and her ten assists. Calabrese also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Nicole Barney, racking up two apiece.

Beaumont School has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Padua Franciscan, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Beaumont School will face off against rival Holy Name at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Padua Franciscan is set to challenge their familiar foe Lake Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
