Basketball Recap: Addy Gish and A'tylia Green Secure Win for Henderson County

Henderson County won the last time they faced Daviess County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Henderson County Colonels walked away with a 58-49 victory over the Daviess County Panthers. Given the Colonels' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Panthers are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Henderson County was led to victory by A'Tylia Green and Addy Gish. Green went 8 of 15 on her way to 20 points and five steals, while Gish posted ten points along with six assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Gibson, who had seven points and three steals.

Daviess County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedy Lane, who went 9 of 19 on her way to 21 points. The matchup was Lane's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Lily Hoagland was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Henderson County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Daviess County, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henderson County will host Mt. Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Henderson County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for Daviess County, they will challenge Owensboro at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Owensboro also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 58.1 points per game.
