Baseball Recap: Scotch Plains-Fanwood Find Success

Scotch Plains-Fanwood took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Bridgewater-Raritan, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders skirted past the Panthers 6-4. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered an 8-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C.J. Bates, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Bates a new career-high. Ryan Trivisonno also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Bridgewater-Raritan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scotch Plains-Fanwood will challenge Governor Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bridgewater-Raritan, they will venture away from home to take on Lawrence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
