Volleyball Game Preview: Hoover Cardinals vs. Crawford Colts

The Hoover Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Crawford Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Hoover saw some tournament action on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against La Jolla Country Day, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, Crawford hadn't done well against Christian recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Colts won by a set and slipped past the Patriots 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since March 15th.

Crawford had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 9-25, 20-25, 26-24, 28-26, 15-13.

Crawford found their leader in freshman John Brown, who had 20 digs.

Hoover's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Crawford, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Hoover might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Crawford in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
