Volleyball Game Preview: Deerfield Demons vs. Madison Country Day

Deerfield has gone a perfect 5-0 against Madison Country Day recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison Country Day at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Deerfield has ten straight wins, Madison Country Day has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Deerfield made easy work of Palmyra-Eagle and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-12, 25-18.

Deerfield can attribute much of their success to Lily Betthauser, who had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Betthauser has posted over her last six contests. Ava Berge also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Madison Country Day came up short against Abundant Life on Thursday and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 20-25, 25-14.

Madison Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Deerfield, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.

Everything went Deerfield's way against Madison Country Day in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Deerfield made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Demons have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madison Country Day turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
