Recap: Union Redhawks vs. Edmond Santa Fe Wolves
On Thursday, The Union Redhawks faced the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Union put the hurt on Edmond Santa Fe with a sharp 31-10 victory. The result was nothing new for Union, who have now won six games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Union's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Schelling, who rushed for 142 yards. Gamaliel Joel jones also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
The win was the fifth in a row for Union, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Edmond Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Union will head out on the road to face off against Edmond Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Edmond Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Union is ranked third). As for Edmond Santa Fe, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Deer Creek at 7:40 p.m. Deer Creek is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
