Softball Recap: Richfield Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Richfield finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 10-1 to the Emery Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since March 25th.

Richfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerzy Moon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Moon has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Richfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Emery, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Richfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Manti at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Emery will challenge rival Juab at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Spartans' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Wasps have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
