Basketball Recap: Eisenhower Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cambridge Springs last Wednesday, Eisenhower came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers by a score of 69-66 on Tuesday. The Knights were up 42-23 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Mercyhurst Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Harris led the charge by putting up 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jake DiBello-Millimaci, who posted 14 points and six assists.

Eisenhower's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Mercyhurst Prep, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eisenhower will head out to face off against Erie First Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eisenhower will be up against Erie First Christian Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.54 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will venture away from home to square off against Iroquois at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Lakers will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.15 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
