Football Recap: Wetumka Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Wetumka unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 46-0 loss at the hands of the Dewar Dragons. The defeat continues a trend for the Chieftains in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost eight in a row.

The victory was the 13th in a row (dating back to last season) for Dewar, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wetumka will challenge Davenport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dewar, they will take on Weleetka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
