Basketball Game Preview: York Dukes vs. North Platte Bulldogs

York hasn't had much luck against North Platte recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the York Dukes will head out on the road to face off against the North Platte Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. York is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, York turned things around against Malcolm on Friday. They came out on top against the Clippers by a score of 57-49.

Ryan Huston and Cayce Hager were among the main playmakers for York as the former went 10 of 16 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals and the latter went 7 for 13 en route to 16 points and three steals. Dylan Oberle was another key player, putting up four points and six boards.

Meanwhile, North Platte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by McCook and fell 78-44. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Bison are ranked 46th).

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

York came up short against North Platte in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 79-68. Can York avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
