Football Recap: Cocoa Tigers vs. Rockledge Raiders
Cocoa won the last time they faced Rockledge and Brady Hart did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cocoa Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rockledge Raiders 37-0 thanks in part to Hart, who threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns while completing 89.5% of his passes. His passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 304 passing yards.
Dl Hardison was another key player, picking up 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cocoa is undefeated when Hardison posts two or more receiving touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Cocoa wouldn't let Rockledge keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Cocoa can thank Cameron Barlowe and Cj Hester for forcing both of them. Cocoa got some further help from Javion Hilson: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).
The victory was the third in a row for Cocoa, bringing their record for this year to 6-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their rushing production: they averaged an imposing 138.8 rushing yards in those games compared to only 138.8 in the others. As for Rockledge, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.
