Recap: West Orange Warriors vs. Bishop Moore Hornets

After a string of three wins, the West Orange Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Bishop Moore 55-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as West Orange came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Bishop Moore is ranked 186th).

West Orange's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zulmalyz Sanchez, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. Sanchez scored a full 26% of West Orange's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Serena Rosas was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 11 rebounds.

Bishop Moore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Wolsonovich, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. Wolsonovich continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Victoria Zaremba, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.

West Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Bishop Moore, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Orange will take on Timber Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Moore will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Windermere Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
