Basketball Game Preview: Grand County Red Devils vs. Duchesne Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Grand County Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Duchesne Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Grand County easily dispatched North Sevier on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Grand County fell just short of Draper APA by a score of 56-54 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since January 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Duchesne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of South Sevier.

Grand County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Duchesne, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Grand County couldn't quite finish off Duchesne in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 66-63. Can Grand County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
