Basketball Recap: Leonardtown Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Leonardtown extended their postseason success on Thursday against Bowie. They took down the Bowie Bulldogs 59-41. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 55-51 defeat.

Leonardtown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jameson Dyson, who shot 43% from the field en route to 14 points. Darius Searles was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Leonardtown pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Bowie, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 17-9 record.

Looking ahead, Leonardtown will head out on the road to face off against Meade at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meade knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 matchups -- so hopefully Leonardtown likes a good challenge. Bowie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
