Baseball Recap: Mexico Comes Up Short

Mexico fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lutheran on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Brady Fox and Tyson Carr did some serious damage despite the final result: Fox scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Carr scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Fox also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Mexico's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mexico will welcome Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lutheran, they will square off against Duchesne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
