Basketball Recap: HEARTS for Jesus Christ Takes a Loss

HEARTS for Jesus Christ was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Marion H Hawks 56-26. While losing is never fun, the Guardians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while the Hawks are ranked 251st).

Defeat or not, HEARTS for Jesus Christ got some senior leadership from Carenna Lewis and Rayna Kawczak. Lewis posted six points and five steals, while Kawczak put up 15 points and three steals.

HEARTS for Jesus Christ's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Marion H, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

HEARTS for Jesus Christ wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-9 win against Horizon Science Academy on the 24th. As for Marion H, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Harvest Temple Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th.
