Basketball Recap: Hickory Ridge Comes Up Short at Home Against Independence + How To Watch

Hickory Ridge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Independence Patriots by a score of 74-71 on Tuesday. The Ragin' Bulls haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Independence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christan Jones led the charge by going 6-for-11 to rack up 21 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lusemo Macharia, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Looking ahead, Hickory Ridge will venture away from home to square off against Lake Norman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Independence, they will take on Minor at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
