Basketball Game Preview: Spearman Lynx vs. Sunray Bobcats

The Spearman Lynx will venture away from home to challenge the Sunray Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Spearman will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Spearman will head into Tuesday's game having proved themselves against Sanford-Fritch: Spearman took a 26-point loss the last time they faced off against Sanford-Fritch, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Spearman came out on top in a nail-biter against Sanford-Fritch on Tuesday, sneaking past 33-30. Given the Lynx's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Eagles are ranked 449th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sunray ended up a good deal behind Sanford-Fritch on Friday and lost 55-37.

Sunray's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Spearman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Everything came up roses for Spearman against Sunray in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, as the squad secured a 57-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spearman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
