Football Game Preview: Central Bears vs. Weeki Wachee Hornets

The Central Bears will take on the Weeki Wachee Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Central's offense hasn't had much luck over their past 14 contests, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Central's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Tarpon Springs on Wednesday. They fell 7-0 to the Spongers.

Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last matchup, Weeki Wachee made sure to put some points up on the board against Crystal River on Wednesday. The Hornets blew past the Pirates, posting a 33-0 win. Considering the Hornets' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Weeki Wachee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nevaeh Clark and Ireland Rock.

Weeki Wachee pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.0 points on average over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Central came up short against Weeki Wachee when the teams last played back in March, falling 7-0. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
