Baseball Game Preview: Eldorado Golden Eagles vs. Cleveland Storm

The Eldorado Golden Eagles will face off against the Cleveland Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eldorado will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Eldorado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Organ Mountain by a score of 5-1.

Eldorado got a great performance from Jace Sanchez-Reynolds as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts Sanchez-Reynolds has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Timothy Kamphuis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Cleveland faced Mayfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Storm walked away with a 7-3 win over the Trojans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Eldorado's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cleveland, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.

Eldorado was able to grind out a solid win over Cleveland in their previous meeting back in March, winning 7-4. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
