The Fairport Red Raiders will take on the Liverpool Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Liverpool took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fairport, who comes in off a win.
Liverpool will be up against a hot Fairport squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Red Raiders' way against Greece Storm on Monday as they made off with a 17-6 victory. Considering the Red Raiders have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Leila Hernandez tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Fairport let Lizzie Roessel and Alaina Nunez run wild. Roessel went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two stolen bases, and one triple, while Nunez got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Roessel a new career-high. Allison Runke was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Fairport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool fell victim to Cicero-North Syracuse and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They fell just short of the Northstars by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.
This is the second loss in a row for Liverpool and nudges their season record down to 2-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Fairport, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Fairport couldn't quite finish off Liverpool when the teams last played back in April of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
