Coldwater had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it nine. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Three Rivers Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-5 on Saturday.

Brayden Lackey and Royale Fleming stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lackey went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Fleming went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Owen Tappenden, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

As for Three Rivers, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Three Rivers' side, the team relied heavily on Gabe Young, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases and four runs. Mason Awe was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coldwater will square off against Pennfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Three Rivers, they will venture away from home to take on Dowagiac at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
