Softball Recap: Portage Mustangs vs. Williamsburg Blue Pirates

They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Williamsburg Blue Pirates. The victory was familiar territory for Portage who now have five in a row.
Paige Phillips was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over nine innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Phillips has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Phillips was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run.
