Recap: Middle College Bulldogs vs. Melrose Golden Wildcats

The Middle College Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 74 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Melrose by a score of 77-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (58), Middle College still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Melrose to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Sanders Jr, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Sanders Jr is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshawn Plummer, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds.

Middle College has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Melrose, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Middle College will be playing in front of their home fans against Brighton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Brighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Melrose, they will head out on the road to face off against Bolton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bolton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 220 points over their last three matches.
