Baseball Recap: Pine View Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Pine View challenged Hurricane on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 7-4 win over the Tigers. The Panthers have beaten the Tigers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

JJ Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Pine View is 3-1 when Johnson allows two or fewer hits, but 9-10-1 otherwise. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kobe Goodman was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Pine View: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Raiden Hunt, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Pine View now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Hurricane, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

As of now, neither Pine View nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
